Yahoo Deletion Stats

Up until now we have had very few indicators on how many groups Yahoo deletes every month and what kind of groups gets deleted. Wingman's Adult Group Lists have just published an overview over how many groups they found deleted each month last year and even more interestingly what categories the deleted groups where in:

We have received another report of massive numbers of groups being deleted. Reportedly, both Groups and Moderator email accounts have been deleted and/or disabled. Some Moderators are claiming an anti-gay bias, however no official announcements from Yahoo or facts from independent third parties confirm this allegation.
We are following this story closely. Please comment and provide any information or links that you feel may help clarify this situation.
Find Your Deleted Yahoo Group!

After the recent mass deletion of groups at Yahoo a lot of people can't find their favorite groups and moderators have problems reaching their former members with information on what has happened to the group and where the group is continued.
We now encourage all moderators who have had their group deleted and that have recreated the group to post the location of the new group as a comment to this news post.
Simply click the "Post a Comment" link below and include the name of the old group and the link to the new group.
Yahoo Email Moratorium a Fluke

Email service for those groups reporting a stoppage in email processing by Yahoo have now reported a return to normal activity. The powerful reaction to a common technical slowdown indicates a growing frustration with the large and seemingly indifferent service provider for groups.
